Hi everyone:

Sometimes I meet a man that has a strange effect on me. For some crazy reason I have to flirt with him. Don't know why but it just happens. It doesn't happen very often but it happens. A few weeks ago I ran into one of these men.

One night as I was crawling into bed my back began to hurt. Soon my stomach was hurting and I could find no position which would alleviate this pain. Breathing was difficult and I was experiencing nausea. After about three hours of this the pain eased and I was able to go to sleep. A few nights later it happened again. The pain wasn't as severe as the first time, nevertheless, it was excruciating. This attack also lasted about three hours. About a week later another attack hit. I was crawling into bed at 10 p.m. when it hit. At 11:00 the next morning I was sitting in the doctor's office and still in extreme pain. It was 12 o'clock before they called me back to an examining room and it was sometime between 11 and 12 when the pain went away. That attack lasted over 13 hours.

My doctor made an immediate diagnosis -- gall bladder. What a horrible thing to tell me. He could have picked something that sounded much nicer like maybe bipolar. That's a popular thing these days. But no, he chose gall bladder. I mean, come on! Gall bladder? What an awful sounding name. Well, he ordered the tests to confirm his diagnosis then scheduled me for a visit with a surgeon.

I gotta tell you about this surgeon. He was an older man, somewhat attractive, and very dour. He was so solemn, never smiling. I fell for him instantly and the clown in me surfaced.

The day finally came for my admission to the hospital. They prepped me and wheeled me into the surgery room. All the nurses were speedily working to get things ready while off to the side was this gloomy doctor, waiting. He wasn't doing anything or saying anything, he was just standing there with his hands behind his back solemnly waiting.

I couldn't stand it! The atmosphere was too heavy. I had just been strapped down to the table so I couldn't get up but I lifted my head as high as I could, looked this man straight in the eye, and asked, "Do you know how to do this?"

The look on his face was priceless. He may have even dropped his mouth open momentarily. The nurses all started laughing but, after the initial shock, this man was unflinching and once again grave. He assured me that yes, he did indeed know how to do it. He had learned the procedure in 1990 and since that time has done well over 2,000 of them.

Next thing I knew I was struggling for breath and they were giving me oxygen. The surgery went fine and I was able to go home that night. The procedure was done on a Tuesday and I was out shopping the following Friday.

Well, I've finally done something to the website. Trouble is, I forgot to write it down to tell you what it was. Oops! If you'd like to visit the links section you'll find that I've added a lot of new links. This almost catches me up with the requested additions and I might some day actually get around to finishing them.
