Hi Everyone:
Dr. Guse: I'm starting my new job as a stock broker next week. Have
you any suggestions for me so that I'll keep my new boss happy and
make good trades for my clients? - John J.
Dear JJ: Yes. Read all the right papers and journals, never turn
away a prospective client because he isn't wealthy and above all,
before leaving for work every morning, make sure you're wearing
your pants. You humans look funny without them.

Last week we went to visit my son so my hubby could help him install
some new sound equipment in the church where he pastors. While they
were off tending to this, I wanted to do something useful myself.
E.J. had recently moved and still had unpacked boxes all over the
place. I noticed his bookcases were all full and he still had books
in boxes and laying about all over the place. This looked like a
task I could take on without overstepping any boundaries so I
started gathering books and placing them in boxes with the goal of
having them all in one spot.
When I open up a large box, I was shocked belief at my discovery. I
had actually happened upon the place where unmatched socks go to!
There were all kinds of socks! Black ones, brown ones, gray ones,
white ones, red ones, plaid, spotted, speckled, but no argyle. I
was sitting there in amazement when E.J. walked in the room. I
commented on my discovery but he told me not to get too excited. I
may have found all the lost socks, but the problem was that their
mates were also missing.
I've probably been feeling a touch manic the past couple weeks. No,
there aren't any strange purchases to report, rather, I've been
working on the site and have added quite a bit. As mentioned in the
last newsletter David Boulton has sent something for the Soapbox.
Your comments are encouraged. Also, you'll notice this newsletter
is coming from Yahoo! Groups instead of ListBot. ListBot is closing
their free accounts effective August 6. I could stay with ListBot
for a fee of $149/year. Since I'm already paying for my web host
and the small amount of advertising I've placed on the site has
resulted in zero income, I've no inclination to pay that fee.
Hopefully things will work out with Yahoo! Groups and I won't have
to make another switch.

One other thing before I go. I finally got Silly to settle down
long enough to answer a few questions and there are eight new
answers in the Silly Responses section of Teacher's Pet. I hope
they make you smile and remember, your students are welcome to
send her their questions. She might even answer.
That'll do it for now. Enjoy what's left of your summer break.
