Hi Everyone:

I will not eat the parakeet. I will not eat the parakeet. I will not eat the parakeet (or the goldfish).... This gem and others like it can be seen in the Teacher's Pet section of Renae's Room.

Last Friday night we went to visit friends. These were my friends from ancient days of yore. I met Gary while in high school and I've known Jan so long I can't remember meeting her.

As you have most likely figured out from my previous newsletters, my son is an adult. Much to my chagrin, he's all grown up now. This is my chance to tell something on him that, given his choice of vocation, embarrasses him. As a child, he adored the A-Team and thought Face was marvelous. And, since Face was so 'resourceful,' E.J. wanted to grow up to be a con-man. All through junior high and high school, this ambition didn't change. Strangely enough, he found a way to accomplish this lifelong dream. He became a preacher.

E.J. was spending the week at a nearby city helping out with an upcoming seminar. Not realizing he was my son, Jan volunteered to put him up for the week. When he first arrived at their house they were talking and he told her who his grandfather was. She figured he must be mine and this prompted a phone call and an invitation to dinner. Before that evening was over, not only were my preacher son and preacher-qualified husband there, two more preachers showed up. It was fun, but you needed a shovel to help you move about.

So, this time I'm a day early instead of running late like I frequently do. My life has been cooporating this past two weeks so there are several changes to report at Renae's Room. The biggest change is that I've finally made and uploaded most of the link files. Right now there is very little in them but that is my goal for the next two weeks. So, following is a listing of the current changes:

Links added:
School Closings, Shop, Fun Sites, Homeschooling, Humor, One-Room School, Religion, Resources

Links updated:
Home Ec., Science 9-12, Science K-4, Museums

I realize that a section on religion is not very useful to teachers in the public school system, however, there are teachers in parochial schools who may find some of these links to be a valuable resource. This section has been created and will be maintained for them.
