I promise not to barf up any more hairballs on the freshly set table
when my pets are expecting guests for dinner. Arsenic/Submitted by:

section of Renae's Room.)
Hey - this is my first newsletter and here's a big thanks to those of
you who were kind (brave) enough to sign up for it. I'm looking forward
to working with this site and solicit your help. I need stories and
ideas to fit in the various sections. Someone has requested equal time
for dogs. I have already considered that but haven't yet allocated the
space.
When I began this project I was concerned about the server I would be using.
Web Jump offers 25m free space. I worried this wouldn't be enough but those
who know computers have assured me that 25m is more than adequate. The
private server reps I've been speaking with tell me they offer more than
25m (well, most of them do) but I really don't have to worry about that
because I won't need the 25m. So, I signed with Web Jump because it's free
and I needed a place to host Renae's Room so those who have donated materials
for download could see what I was doing with their work.
As I feared, last Friday while I was uploading the software, I ran out of room.
25m is not enough. In fact, it's nowhere near what I need. All the sections
are open for and in need of additions. When you click on the different sections,
many of them will tell you that this page isn't ready yet and there are several
sections yet to be added. I have permission to put 1000+ fonts online and by
the time I get that done (if ever) there'll be more to add. Presently I have
six downloadable programs for the software section and one more to add. It was
while uploading them that I ran out of room after the fourth program. So, I have
a problem to cipher this early in the game. But, the problem may already be
solved. So, don't be surprised if sometime in the next few days you try to
logon to Renae's Room and find it missing. I'll most likely be transferring it
to a different host. Just wait a few hours and try again. Hopefully it won't
be a long experience.
I would like to briefly touch on what is in each of the sections in Renae's Room
that are ready to use:
1. Cattails: For our furry friend who tends to pad about the room and make her
presence known, this section has been set aside for the adorable antics only a
cat could dream up.
2. Fonts: For special projects you sometimes need special lettering. This
section will eventually be chock-full of fonts and dingbats. Several are already
online with gaboodles more to come.
3. Humor: This section is for the funny things that happen in or around school.
Maybe they happened to you or someone you know. Maybe it happened with a parent or
at a school function. Whatever/wherever, if it's worth a snicker, we'd love for
you to share it.
4. Links: Currently this is a link to my account at HotLinks. There are over
1000 links that are sorted and, hopefully, easy to use. Some of these links you'll
find to be highly useful and with others you'll wonder exactly what I was thinking.
For the latter, they are merely added for entertainment. I have temporarily quit
adding to this "tree" but I am still collecting URL's. Eventually I'll have these
links situated on Renae's Room rather than sending you to the never-never lands.
5. Smart Alyx: This is your opportunity to theorize with the best. Exercise
the gray matter and send your own brilliant deducements. Although it's not yet
listed on the site, if you send Alyx five usable theories you'll receive a
diploma indicating you've earned your B.S. from the Smart Alyx Theoretical
Institute of Theory.
6. Software: As mentioned earlier, there is now downloadable software in this
section. There'll be more as soon as I solve the problem of room.
7. Teacher's Pet: Silly insists on having equal time. Do you or your cat have
a cat-related question? Send them to Dr. Guse. Why Guse? She's a cat. Would
you have me call her "Silly Bird"?
8. Uplifting: Frequently there are special moments that occur in school. These
are the times that make the hassles of being a teacher worthwhile. The
responsibility of being an educator is tremendous and at those times when we're at
our wits end, wouldn't it be nice to be able to read experiences others have had
that have lifted their spirit? Why not share your experiences and help to lift
someone else.
9. Archives: A collection of all the past issues of the Renae's Room newsletter.
10. About me: If you're wondering why I'm doing this and how Renae's Room
got started, this will give some background information.
OK, here's one more bit of wisdom that's also found in the Teacher's Pet area:
I promise to hide ALL the evidence next time I make a raid on the fish tank.
