"Dear Silly: Are you spoiled rotten?" Can you believe that somebody asked that question? Just imagine, a spoiled cat.

Hi everyone:

If I haven't mentioned it before, I'm responsible for putting out our church's newsletter. It comes out monthly and it's something I enjoy doing.

A few months back the pastor came by to drop off his items for the newsletter. No problem, he frequently does that. Let me tell you about my pastor. He is the sweetest, kindest person I know. The only person who would come even close to being as nice as him is his wife. I love them both. Did I mention that they're in their mid eighties?

Anyway (lovely word to start a paragraph with), Pastor Woody came by bringing his items for the newsletter. When I opened the door and saw him my first reaction was to want to burst out laughing. Thankfully I didn't. I was telling myself the whole time he was here, "No, Renae, don't laugh." The problem was his attire. He was wearing a red and white striped suit.

When he went to leave he stood on my front porch and asked me, "How do you like my suit?" I was ready to bust but somehow kept a straight face. "I bought it 30 years ago and it still looks this good," he said. I said nothing. Then he said, "my wife doesn't like for me to leave the house wearing it. I don't know why. Do you think there's anything wrong with it?"

What was I supposed to do? My mind was racing. "Uh, it's red..." was the best I could come up with but thankfully was spared the task of answering him. He started talking about it again, pointing out a stain he had on the leg. He left and I had a good laugh.

Woody, if you're reading this, I love you but that suit is awful!

I took an extended break from Renae's Room. I got bored and quit working on the site last December or January. Since quitting I've started crocheting again. So far this year I've made 5 afghans and am about to finish my 6th.

Last June my domain name was expiring so I told Mindspring to pull my site at the end of the month. It seemed silly to keep the site open when it's just sitting here doing nothing. So, I placed a notice that the site would be closing at the top of the index page and did I get the surprise of my life! My emailbox filled continually with requests that I leave the site online. I'm not sure what's on here that is so valuable but my husband and I talked it over and decided to leave it here for a while longer.

A couple weeks ago I decided that maybe I should start doing something with it again so I started redoing the links tree. That's the item that got Renae's Room started in the first place. I was learning to browse the web and my best friend (who was teaching at the time) kept asking me to find different websites for her. She accepted a job as Associate Superintendent of Education in another state and I created that tree for her to take with her and use with her teachers. Some of those teachers sent website addresses to be added to the tree and eventually it grew into what it was a couple weeks ago.

I put the tree online on a free server and created Renae's Room. This free server was awful! When uploading to the site it would take up to 20 minutes for the addition/correction to show up. Loading the pages was also a trick. You never knew if the pages were going to load or if it was going to tell you there wasn't such a place. The site didn't stay there very long at all before I moved it to Mindspring. I pay a monthly fee for it and would like a way to make this site pay for itself but haven't quite figured out how.

Why am I telling you all this? It's 5 a.m. and maybe I'm still sleepy 'cause I'm rambling. Anyway, the point to all this was to say that I have started working on the site again. I'm redoing the links tree, checking to be sure all links work and adding new sites. I've started with the Administration section and will be working alphabetically if you would like to watch the progress. I'm not going to rush to try to do this overnight. I want it to be filled with good material so this will be a long-term project.
