Hi everyone:
Have you ever been spelunking? When Ethan was around 10 or maybe 11, spelunking was something we were into. My old spelunking buddy, Dave (Ethan's principal) called to say he had company coming and would we like to go on a caving trip. Of course we would, and we did.
The caves are located in NW Arkansas which is a five hour trip from here. The expedition was uneventful. We went. We explored. We returned home.
After a long day of physical activity, we were hungry and pizza sounded good. When we reached Russellville we drove into town to the local Pizza Hut. We went in and ordered a large, vegetarian pizza. The waiter tried to talk us into buying two medium pizzas, but we wanted a large. He then told us that they were out of crust. We left.
On down the road we came to Morrillton where we left the interstate and headed into town and went to the local Pizza Hut. We sat down and ordered a large, vegetarian pizza. The waiter left then returned and told us that they were out of crust. Would we like to order two mediums? No, we didn't want two medium pizzas.
We traveled on down the road to Conway where we went into town to the local Pizza Hut. We ordered a large, vegetarian pizza. We wondered if the waiter would come back and tell us he didn't have crust but he didn't. We sat and waited while our pizza was prepared. When they brought it out, it had meat on it. Three of the people at that table, including Ethan, were vegetarians and were not going to eat a pizza with meat on it. Dave told the waiter that it wasn't what we had ordered. The waiter urged us to take the pizza anyway but we refused. Presently, the manager came out with the pizza and asked us what the problem was. Dave told him it wasn't what we had ordered. The manager urged us to take it anyway. Dave told him we were vegetarians and we weren't going to eat a pizza with meat on it. The manager looked at Ethan and asked him if he would eat it. Ethan got a grotesque look on his face and shuddered. "No," he said. The manager then said, "Well, here's the problem: we've run out of crust."
We came home that night without dinner.

Well, there is a change to report. With the help of my husband, I've added a section called Software. It's nothing special or fancy, just a few small computer programs that Abe used when he was teaching. The spelling program he used was for a one-room school and had alternating years. There were five levels and I think there were like 35 or 36 lessons to each level. He programmed some games using these words and we actually sold this program to several schools. We're giving it away now. It doesn't have the fancy graphics that kids have learned to expect but it was programmed to teach spelling words, not for entertainment. I hope you can find the program useful.
