I promise that all my prancing about on the keyboard will someday
result in a Pulitzer winning novel./Submitted by: Buffy
Hi everyone:
Morning and Renae. That combination mixes about as well as water
and oil. Every morning about 7 a.m. Silly jumps up on my bed and
walks up the length of me. There is a pillow placed on the
headboard especially for her and she'll step over my head onto her
pillow. That's usually enough to get me up. It might as well get
me up 'cause if I remain in bed too long she walks down the length
of the headboard, jumps onto the floor, and runs around to the foot
of the bed where she jumps back up and walks up me again.
My morning routine is to grab some caffeine before stumbling my way
into my computer room turning on the light in the process. Walking
is hazardous at this time of day. Not only am I hung over from the
medication my doctor has given me to help me sleep, Silly is at my
feet, hurrying me into the other room where she knows that in my
desk drawer waits a package of "cookies." Once her cookie addiction
has been sated, I logon to check my email and stats on Renae's Room.
My husband usually doesn't work on Fridays and this morning was no
exception. Normally he gets up at 4 a.m. so staying in bed till 7
is a bit long for him. It wasn't surprising to me to come into the
computer room and find him sitting at my computer playing with Sim
City. I was disgruntled. There was Silly running about the place
wanting her cookies and Abe was in my chair. I plopped it down in
my rocker and very grumpily told him he was in my way but that was
O.K. 'cause he could just do for me what I normally do. Silly got
her cookies while I was saying this.
Abe finished what he was doing, minimized his game, and followed my
instructions on what I wanted done.
Despite the muddledness, I was feeling a bit devious. Renae's Room
had just been featured on LynnLynn's Links during the week and so far
there hadn't been any changes from the norm on the site statistics
that my web host provides. Till now we've been running along at a
slow, but steadily growing pace and are up to an average of about
105-115 visitors per day. (Hey, we're a relatively new and unknown
site.) So, expecting to see a number somewhere around the 110 area,
he suddenly blurted, "Huh? What happened!" There were well over
fourteen hundred visitors that had visited on the prior day and he
was totally unprepared. By now I was awake enough to giggle and
give him an explanation.
Sometimes I think he keeps me around because I keep his life so
interesting....

If you've been to Renae's Room recently you've probably noticed
something missing. I've pulled all the advertising from that
opening page. I don't promise to keep it off, but I'm going to
try. Because of the loading time it's better for you if I keep
them off, however, I really need to find a way for RR to support
itself. I've decided that, at this point anyway, affiliate
marketing is not the solution. For now, the ads will remain
off but if I find something that I feel should be placed there,
I'm reserving the right to do just that.

We've added 4 new pet jokes and one new school joke.
There were 20 handwriting sheets for grades PreK-K mentioned on your
last newsletter. This time I've added 8 sheets for grades 1-2 and 8
sheets for grades 3-4.
