Gift From Heaven
The pastor had a new kitten that he had become quite attached to. One day this kitten climbed up a tree in his backyard but was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered milk, food and anything else he could think of but the kitten just wouldn't come down and the tree was not strong enough for the pastor to climb.

Considering the problem a bit, the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and pulled forward a bit then the tree would bend down and he could reach up and get the kitten. He tried this, driving slowly so as not to endanger his little pet. Driving ahead oh so slowly and watching very carefuly, he kept creeping forward just a little bit more.

Presently the rope snapped and with a fling the kitten went flying; sailing through the air and out of sight. He went running and called and called but could not find his kitten. He felt terrible.

A few days later while at the grocery store, he met one of his church members. In her shopping cart was cat food. Knowing she didn't have a cat, in fact she didn't like cats, he asked about the food.

She responded, "You won't believe this," and told him that her young daughter had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. Then a few days ago, the child had asked again, so she finally told the kid, "Well, if the Lord gives you a cat, I'll let you keep it."

She told the pastor, "I watched my child go out in the yard, get down on her knees, and ask Lord for a cat. And really, Pastor, I know you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws spread out, and landed right in front of her."/Submitted by:DF
